Spinning, flipping, and bonding – our family team creates 3D fidget fun that’s not just for hands but also for hearts. Keeping the whole clan calm, one twist at a time!

Our Story

Bumpa Built began in 2023 with a simple request from a little boy to his dad: “Can you make me a bearded dragon toy?” Using their 3D printer, the duo created a toy that the boy loved so much, he brought it to friends’ houses, where it quickly became the center of attention. Seeing the excitement it sparked, they decided to create more fidget toys and brought them to a birthday party. The colorful, imaginative designs were an instant hit, and the idea for Bumpa Built was born.

The name “Bumpa Built” holds a special meaning—it’s a tribute to Adam’s dad, Mark Rivard, lovingly known as “Bumpa.” Bumpa has always been a source of inspiration, encouraging Adam and his siblings to dream big and create. Growing up, Bumpa included his kids in all his projects, whether it was building something with wood and nails, tinkering with engines, or crafting something entirely new. This hands-on approach fostered a deep love for creativity and problem-solving, values that now live on through Bumpa Built.

What started as a small family project quickly grew into a passion for Adam and Jackie Rivard, a husband-and-wife team with big dreams. With support from their family—including Bumpa and Grammy (Debra Rivard)—they turned their home into a bustling print farm to keep up with demand as orders began flying in. Adam eventually left his corporate position where his background was in aerospace engineering to focus on Bumpa Built full time. Jackie balances working full time as a middle school media specialist as well as the creative “Queen” behind all the designs Bumpa Built develops. She was lovingly dubbed so from all of their followers on social media.

The journey began on Etsy, but it was their creative presence on TikTok that propelled Bumpa Built to new heights. Within a year, they gained over 60,000 followers—an amazing community that continues to support and grow with them. Weekly live streams and content made their followers feel like family, helping the business transition from a home operation to a storefront in Somers, CT.

Today, Bumpa Built is powered by 70 3D printers running 24/7, creating delightful toys and fidgets for customers of all ages. But it’s more than just a print farm—Bumpa Built is a place where creativity thrives. Through workshops, birthday parties, and STEM programs for kids and adults, the Rivards share their passion for 3D printing and inspire others to bring their ideas to life.

What started with one little boy’s request and a family’s love for creating has grown into a mission to spark joy, imagination, and learning in the community and beyond. At Bumpa Built, the possibilities are endless—just like the creativity Bumpa instilled in his family from the very beginning.

  • Family is everything

Family means everything, and that doesn’t mean just blood relatives.  The #BumpaBuilt family has become a worldwide community of people who genuinely love supporting each other, and that is because of the values you instilled in us.

  • Things worth doing

Things worth doing are just that.  Put in the effort and good things will eventually come from it.  We’ve had our fair share of ups and downs over the past 4 months, and you’ve always listened when we needed to vent and encouraged us when we needed an extra push.

  • Helping Hand

Always take care of those who need a helping hand.  When this thing started taking off you and Grammie jumped right in to help without ever being asked.  Before we knew it you were here every day and have become a critical part of this team.

  • Mistakes will happen

Mistakes are going to happen.  The important thing is you learn from them (Unless it involves touching a hot drill bit immediately after drilling a hole).

  • Never Stop Learning

Sometimes the only way to learn how something works is to tear it apart and hopefully put it back together.  Even though the tools we’re using now are more complex than the hammer and nails you taught us with, you’ve dove right in and become a critical part of maintaining these 3D printers.
